This is one of the last passes to be built by Thomas Baines the greatest of our pioneer road builders. The spectacular switchbacks at the top of the pass can be viewed directly from above.
The view from the top of the pass is of the Southern section of the Knersvlakte, and the Matsikama Mountain behind Van Rhynsdorp in the distance. |
